How fabulous are these designs from Ocatvio Pizarro? I’m always up for the addition of more unconventional black pieces to the wardrobe.
The Santiago-born Paris-based designer brings a clash of futurism, rock’n’roll and elegant draping to his F/W ’12/13 collection. There’s a touch of Helmut Newton in the shoot too. Never a bad thing.
Starting off as a creative studio assistant in 1996 to legendary French designer Jean Louis Scherrer, by 2005 Pizarro launched his own collection. I love the traces of his South American roots that can be found in the poncho silhouettes and fine knits made of Alpaca wool.
His previous A/W collection was launched at Paris’ Joyce Gallery and earlier this year his alpaca home collection made an appearance at Maison et Objet. Who knows? Perhaps it probably won’t be long before Pizarro’s designs make their way to HK.
